Her hair is blonde. Anne was involved in a romantic relationship and a complicated relationship with Gilbert Blythe. Gilbert, 2 years younger than Anne and pursuing studies at the same level after his father fell sick, had interrupted his study. Gilbert initially called Anne Carrots. Amybeth McNulty portrays Anne, aged 13 and has lived in an orphanage as well as the home of strangers. The story begins in the 1890s, when Anne gets sent off to live with the elderly siblings Marilla as well as Matthew Cuthbert who live on Prince Edward Island.
